2019 Puppy Plans

We are delighted to say that we are planning a litter of puppies this year from our beautiful Islay.  Islay is 2 ½ now and is the most adorable, mad, energetic and totally typical flattie and we know she will be a fantastic mum. It is good to know that her mum, Torsa, will be on hand to offer her (and us) moral support throughout the process. Islay was so loving towards Torsa when she had her last litter of pups, we are looking forward to seeing how they both react when the positions are reversed.

If you are interested in a puppy from our lovely Islay, we are hoping, nature permitting, that they will be born around Easter and ready to go to their new homes at the beginning of the summer. Both parents have been appropriately health tested. Please get in touch with us for more information.

July 2017

Cant believe our Disney pups are almost 7 weeks old and will be heading off shortly to their new homes. We are enjoying their company in the meantime, it is always amazing to watch them grow and develop. With a few family gatherings in the past weeks they have come to enjoy a party (as well as all the attention) too!

Puppies are here!!

I am so pleased to say that Torsa has had her babies! We have 8 beautiful and big puppies, 5 black boys, 1 black girl and 2 liver girls. They are big puppies again, Torsa does such a good job of producing big strong pups.

This is our Disney litter so we are pleased to announce the arrival of our boys, Bambi, Pluto, Mowgli, Dumbo and Pinnochio and our girls Tinker Bell, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella!

Not long to go

Can’t believe Torsa’s pups will arrive next week – its been a really fast pregnancy. She is looking great – though huge! She’s felt the heat the last few days and has been just a little slower when we’ve been out walking and when we’ve been in the garden she’s been keen to find a patch of shade to lie down in (when she isn’t bringing me tennis balls to throw of course!)

Fingers crossed for the Pitter Patter of tiny puppy feet….

We are so delighted to confirm that our beautiful Torsa (Craigachan Diamond Queen) was mated with the dashingly handsome Raiden (Aricdell Night Sky for Damashii) this week. A very big thanks to Margaret and Margaret for their kindness and hospitality and another Margaret (my Mum) for providing transport and lunch! We have fingers and toes crossed for some little puppy feet mid May 2017! Raiden and Torsa both carry the liver gene so this is likely to be a mixed litter of black and liver. Please get in touch if you are interested in having one of our babies join your family.

Fold the Sheets Gently

This is entirely un-dog related and I wouldn’t consider myself a great poetry lover however I heard this poem read on the radio yesterday and, as someone who has had direct experiences of family members with dementia and in care, I found it very moving.

Fold the Sheets Gently

She was a dancer
on youth’s stage,
before age crept up
and changed the dance.

Fold the sheets gently
Clean the beds, mop the floors

He was a postman
who carried miles
of letters but at a stroke
he is still as his stick,
as silent as an unopened
love letter.

Fold the sheets gently
Make the tea and make it sweet

She was a teacher,
who remembers the names
of all her students but
not the faces of her husband
and sons.

Fold the sheets gently
all starched and neat

He was a soldier
who survived.
The poppy in his
pullover, the medals
on his chest of drawers.

Fold the sheets gently
Make the bed, kiss my head.

Family is not everlasting,
some are taken some are not.

Fold the sheets gently
close the blinds slowly
turn out the light and
Say good night
