Lockdown Walks

Islay has been an amazing companion during lockdown and we’ve enjoyed some lovely new walks. It’s interesting to think that I tend to walk the same places over and over and, when forced to only walk close to home, I’ve found so many new paths and trails to explore!

Helping out

Islay has been coming to work with me in the woods. She is so wonderfully patient with the children who are learning so much. I see them grow in confidence and patience as they interact with her and she provides opportunities for them to become responsible and to take the lead (literally!!)

Easter Puppies

So delighted to say that our lovely Islay has been mated with the handsome Peter (Candidacasa Peanut) and that we are hoping for puppies around Easter. Peter’s father is a handsome liver boy and so Peter carries the liver gene. With Islay also being liver there is the potential for a mix of black and liver pups in this litter.
We were fortunate to be able to see some of Peter’s babies from an earlier litter before they went off to their new homes and they were just adorable and have really got us all at Craigachan anxious to have the patter of tiny puppy feet back in our home.
If you are interested in joining the waiting list for one of our puppies please get in touch with us at craigachan@gargunnock.com

2019 Puppy Plans

We are delighted to say that we are planning a litter of puppies this year from our beautiful Islay.  Islay is 2 ½ now and is the most adorable, mad, energetic and totally typical flattie and we know she will be a fantastic mum. It is good to know that her mum, Torsa, will be on hand to offer her (and us) moral support throughout the process. Islay was so loving towards Torsa when she had her last litter of pups, we are looking forward to seeing how they both react when the positions are reversed.

If you are interested in a puppy from our lovely Islay, we are hoping, nature permitting, that they will be born around Easter and ready to go to their new homes at the beginning of the summer. Both parents have been appropriately health tested. Please get in touch with us for more information.

Not long to go

Can’t believe Torsa’s pups will arrive next week – its been a really fast pregnancy. She is looking great – though huge! She’s felt the heat the last few days and has been just a little slower when we’ve been out walking and when we’ve been in the garden she’s been keen to find a patch of shade to lie down in (when she isn’t bringing me tennis balls to throw of course!)

Fingers crossed for the Pitter Patter of tiny puppy feet….

We are so delighted to confirm that our beautiful Torsa (Craigachan Diamond Queen) was mated with the dashingly handsome Raiden (Aricdell Night Sky for Damashii) this week. A very big thanks to Margaret and Margaret for their kindness and hospitality and another Margaret (my Mum) for providing transport and lunch! We have fingers and toes crossed for some little puppy feet mid May 2017! Raiden and Torsa both carry the liver gene so this is likely to be a mixed litter of black and liver. Please get in touch if you are interested in having one of our babies join your family.
