June 19th

Pups have just had their first trip out to the vet – Broadleys in Dunblane.  They seem to have grown so much in the last 3 or 4 days. Their eyes opened on Sunday and today they are almost up on their feet. Talla is not spending nearly so much time in with them now, goes in to feed them and then when they need it and then is out and about. She has definitely been quieter than her usual but today saw her much more her energetic and bouncy self.
Happy to say that the vet gave all of the pups all a thumbs up – fit and healthy.
Worming and solid food next 🙂

Talla’s Puppies are here!

Talla has had her puppies! They arrived right in the middle of a family party to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee – perfect timing. Talla was an absolute star and is now the proud and doting Mum of 4 boys and a girl. One of the boys is liver. All of the pups are just beautiful.
We will keep the wee girl and are happy to say that we already have homes lined up for all of our boys

1st June 2012

Less than a week to go and Talla is getting a bit restless. She’s definitely spread in the last couple of days and yesterday for the first time couldn’t manage her tea in one go. Feeling very sorry for her in the extreme heat of last week – she is enjoying the cooler days again (proper Scottish summer weather has returned). She is always right at my side these days too, definitely wanting the attention and cuddles

Update

Talla visited the vet yesterday for a check up and all is looking good. The puppies are due in 3 weeks time but other than being slightly heavier than she was a few weeks back you wouldn’t know. Talla is as energetic as ever. I do think she is craving company slightly more at the moment – she is never far away from me but these days she’s right at my feet nearly all the time.

Welcome

Welcome to Craigachan, our home in Gargunnock – a small village to  the west of Stirling.

We have owned flat coated retrievers for over 20 years but this year we have taken the huge leap of breeding our own litter of pups.

Check back for progress on our babies 🙂

This is Talla who is, hopefully, our Mum to be. She’s 5 years old and this will be her first litter. See more about her on her own page.
